Saga of Valor & Supreme Sacrifice

In the midnight hours of 26 November 2008, ASI Tukaram Omble intercepted the hijacked Skoda car carrying terrorists Ajmal Kasab and Abu Ismail at Girgaum Chowpatty. When Kasab stepped out firing bursts from his AK-47, Omble lunged forward, grabbed the hot rifle barrel, and held on as bullets tore through his body, allowing fellow policemen to capture Kasab alive.
