Saga of Valor & Supreme Sacrifice

On the night of 2–3 July 1999 during Operation Vijay, Captain Manoj Kumar Pandey was tasked to clear the enemy from Khalubar Ridge in Batalik sector. Fearlessly leading his men under intense fire, he charged the first enemy position and killed two intruders. Sustaining bullet wounds in his shoulder and leg, he destroyed the second bunker with grenades and charged the final position, shouting 'Na Chhornu' (Leave none). He fell to a fatal head wound, having accomplished his mission.
