Saga of Valor & Supreme Sacrifice

Captain Pawan Kumar led his team into the multi-storey EDI building at Pampore where fidayeen terrorists were entrenched. Despite bullet injuries, he continued to advance and direct his squad in close-quarters clearing operations until he made the supreme sacrifice on 21 February 2016, uttering: 'Kisi ko arakshan chahiye, toh kisi ko azadi... hume bas hamari Bharat Mata ki mitti chahiye.'
