Saga of Valor & Supreme Sacrifice

On 3 December 1971 during the attack on Gangasagar on the Eastern front, Lance Naik Albert Ekka charged an enemy fortified bunker that was pinning down his company with heavy machine-gun fire. He bayoneted two enemy gunners and silenced the post. Despite severe bullet wounds, he noticed another machine-gun firing from a fortified building; he crawled forward under fire, hurled a grenade and killed the remaining gunner, saving his company before breathing his last.
