Saga of Valor & Supreme Sacrifice

On 21 March 2009 in Kupwara, Major Mohit Sharma led a team in the dense snow-bound Hafruda forest. When his team came under heavy automatic fire, he crawled forward under fire to pull two injured commandos to safety. Continuing to return fire while bleeding from multiple wounds, he killed four terrorists in close combat before making the supreme sacrifice.
